“I am from Boigu Island in the Torres Strait. I joined the Navy from Boigu Island on 7 April 2008 at the age of 22. I did my eight month military training at Crib Point Victoria. I was then posted to Sydney on 5 November 2008. I undertook my first deployment (Operation Slipper) in 2010 on board HMAS Parramatta. My second deployment (Operation Resolute) in 2011 as Transit Security Element at HMAS Coonawarra. I also assisted in the 2011 flood in Ipswich. I am still currently serving and enjoy my time in the Navy. I love the life style and get to see a lot of places and meet really good people.” – Isaac Ingui
