I joined the Australian Defence Force through the Army Indigenous Development Program (AIDP) in 2016 with the help of the Indigenous Recruitment Team. I am grateful for the experience that the Australian Defence Force has provided from this program. I have made lifelong friends through every aspect of my career, starting from AIDP to employment training at Army School of Transport and my personal favourite – playing Army Rugby. I had the opportunity to be a part of the Indigenous Recruitment Team at ADF Careers Cairns. This was definitely one of the highlights of my career, among other moments. I hope my time there inspired many others to join our growing ADF. I am currently posted to 1st Recruit Training Battalion as a Recruit Instructor for the Army Indigenous Development Program, and I am very proud to have made it back to where it all started.
