I was born in Dubbo, New South Wales in October 1969 and was educated at Woodridge High School before enlisting into the Army Reserves in 1989. I enlisted in the Australian Regular Army in February 1990, and after completing Recruit and Initial Employment training, I was posted to 18 Field Squadron, 2/3 Field Engineer Regiment as a Field Engineer.

In January 1996, I was posted to 21 Construction Squadron as an Engineer Driver. After nine years as a driver, I was looking for a career change. In 2005 I was approved to become a Plumber and Gasfitter. After completing my apprenticeship, I was posted to 17 Construction Squadron. During this time at 17 Construction Squadron, I was promoted to Lance Corpora in 2009 and to Corporal in 2012.

I have served in the Army for 29 years. I deployed operationally in 1999 as part of International Force East Timor as part of Operation WARDEN, also to Afghanistan as part of Operation SLIPPER in 2010, and more recently to Iraq in 2017 as part of Operation ACCORDION and Okra. I have participated in ten Army Aboriginal Community Assistance Programs (AACAP) in support of the development of the infrastructure of the Australian Indigenous communities throughout Australia.

During my deployments on the Army Aboriginal Community Assistance Program(AACAP), I have deployed to Bathurst Island, Melville Island, Beagle Bay, Pandanas Park, Injinoo, Mapoon, Diaradgin/Lombadina, Laura and Yalata Communities.
